Planner 1.0.0 - Scheduler and Subtasks

🗓️ Introducing the Scheduler

The Planner Addon has evolved from high-level strategy to granular execution. The new Scheduler links your timeline directly to the production hierarchy, ensuring dates and assignees reflect across the studio in real-time.

  • Integrated Project Table: Navigate folders and tasks via a familiar spreadsheet-style table to assign dates and people within your actual project context.

  • Planner Overlay: Reference your strategy while you work. Toggle the Planner Overlay to see high-level phases "ghosted" over your task list, ensuring individual tasks align with broader goals.

  • Create Schedule Tool: Automatically generate schedules for all matching tasks based on a planned phase (e.g., "Lighting"), instantly populating timelines for specific assignees.✅ Subtasks

Break down complex work without cluttering your main project structure. Subtasks offer a cleaner, more organized way to manage daily milestones.

  • Granular Tracking: Split large tasks into smaller chunks for clearer artist instructions and better progress tracking.

  • Timeline Visibility: View and schedule subtasks directly on the timeline, nested under their parent task to keep the view tidy.

🔍 Advanced Timeline Controls

  • Interactive Zooming: Click interval headers to zoom in, or hold Option/Alt to zoom out for rapid navigation.

  • Smart Snapping: Move or resize events with new "faded handles" that snap to nearby edges for perfect alignment.

  • Stamping Duplicates: Use Shift + Option + Arrow Keys to "stamp" events back-to-back, perfect for rapid scheduling.

  • Spreadsheet Integration: Copy timeline events and paste them directly into Excel or Google Sheets, or paste data back into AYON.

❤️ Improvements & Navigation

  • Off-screen Indicators: Small arrows signal when events exist out of view. Click them or press G to jump straight to the action.

  • Pinning Tracks: Keep essential lanes, like artist bookings or milestones, pinned to the top of the UI while you scroll.

  • Views Support: Both the Planner and Scheduler now fully support the Views system, allowing you to save filters, zoom levels, and groupings.

Planner is a premium addon included with the Studio subscription, or as an extra with a Pro subscription.
