3DSMax Open selected scene doesnt work and string Arguments dont get passed along

I think these two issues are tied together.

Opening a scene from the launcher doesnt work. ( which would be the 3dsmax.exe -s “{scenepath}” argument )

I’m trying to pass along a specific plugins.ini using a command line argument through the applications app ( for example I added this to the argument: -p “\\Server\plugin.ini” ) and it gets ignored. After noticing this I feel both these issues are possibly tied together.

Other software doesnt have this issue. I have a feeling that possibly start-up arguments that are longer than a single argument get clipped.

Arguments can not be added to the command line section but to arguments. I will post screenshot later …

I know that. Sorry I must have worded it wrong. I added it to the Arguments section. this argument I show here doesnt work. But in our CMD window it does work. If I use a single word argument like -q it does work, but as soon as the argument appends something extra like opening a scene file with -s “C:\file.max” for example it breaks.

My intuition also says that this might be why selecting a scene and clicking the max app doesnt actually open the scene either, because multi word arguments arent functional:

If you have “open latest workfile” on and dont select anything in the launcher it will eventually open the latest workfile, but thats done in the scene after launch, not during launch like this would normally need to do. Selecting your workfile in launcher and clicking the max app does not work.

Not sure if these are actually related but I have a hunch they are. If you prefer I’d split them up in two then I’ll do that.

each word in argument has to be on a separate line

Yes this works! My bad, I didnt expect it to have to work like this though but good to know.

I’m going to make a separate post regarding 3dsmax not opening scenes when selected from the launcher.
